Versa 4 is inaccurately counting floors

I just received my Fitbit Versa 4 as a birthday gift a couple days ago and I am so frustrated with this thing. So many things are off, it's crazy. What this post is about is the number of floors that I have taken today. I have purposely walked up and down numerous sets of stairs today and the fitbit only counted 4. I have reset the watch, synced through the app, and even spoke to customer service. None of this has worked!! There are other issues but I will stick to this. Anyone with anything similar and have you had luck with getting the data correct?

Hi @RNBeautifulB - if your watch is new it may not yet be at the latest firmware level.

For floors to count you must also register steps, so if you hold the bannisters, or stop immediately at the top it may not register the floor. This can be worse if dominant wrist is selected as it can count less steps.

Try holding the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start.

If it continues to be a problem you can start a replacement process for a refurbished watch which can take some time without the watch or get a refund or ignore it as it doesn't affect any other measurements and is only for information.

Welcome to the forums @RNBeautifulB

Thank you for sharing your query regarding the Versa 4 and the steps you have already taken to resolve it.

In addition to the information provided by @Guy_, I'd suggest you take in consideration the height of each floor, since it is less than 10 feet, then the device will not be able to count the floor. The Versa 4 only considers a floor when the height of it is 10 feet or above.

Even if your device is new, I'd like you just confirm that dust, dirt or moisture is not present on the back of the watch. The altimeter is a very small hole in one on the back of your watch and it's one of the sensors. Please use a soft cotton cloth to clean it.

Thanks @Guy_ for helping.
