Versa 4 is losing steps after syncing

My fitbit versa 4 stops syncing after it gets halfway, which takes forever. It has also lost all previously synced data. I've been through other fitbit forums and tried forcing the fitbit app to close and reopening the app. I've turned my Bluetooth on and off. I've forgotten this device in my Bluetooth settings and reconnected. I've ensured there are not other Bluetooth devices causing interference. I updated the Fitbit app. I turned my phone off and on. I restarted my fitbit... it has been like this since I bought it and I have had other Fitbit's in the past and never had any of these issues. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed.
