Hi
Tia is my third day using my new versa 4 and I wonder how I can have 40 steps when I wake up? I have been in bed all night. Is it something wrong with my versa?

Hi here, @Angelicagronber. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post.
As @Odyssey13 and @JohnnyRow have mentioned, there's nothing wrong with your Versa 4. Sometimes I get steps when waking up but it is due to Fitbit trackers may register movements or restlessness as steps when you're wearing it while you sleep. The number of steps typically measured during these periods is minimal, and should not offset your overall fitness progress. Any steps taken to and from other rooms during the night will also be tracked.
For more information about the accuracy of your Versa 4, please see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
For additional information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect the accuracy? and What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?

Hi @Angelicagronber everyone is different. I can easily have 150 steps overnight, depending on how many times I flop about or plump up my pillow. Give your Fitbit time to learn how you move about and you'll see it's fairly accurate. Remember, these are wrist based devices, so if you wave your hand about, it counts it as a step.

Nothing wrong with it. It is on your wrist so cannot get step count exactly precise. You might get a few extra from are movements and get a few steps missed, but 40 steps will not be significant compared to daily total. Fitbit can only indirectly infer steps from arm movements, from the regular arm swinging as when walking. It has filters to try to distinguish other arm movements but cannot be precise, but generally over course of full day they even out. And calorie burn comes from heart rate, not from step count.
