Hi, my fitbit versa 4 automatically shuts down, not because battery drain. It happens even with good amount of charging left. Also the its step count is very inaccurate when we keep this auto walk detect is on.

Any thoughts on this problem

Hi @ShripadD - if it reboots repetitively try turning off the phone Bluetooth to see if it stops doing that.

Also try a different clock face if you aren't using the original one.

The step count won't be accurate if it shuts down while walking.

Hi there, @ShripadD. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4.

As @Guy_ has recommended, please restart your Versa 4 as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Regarding the step count, please note wrist trackers count steps depending on the movement of your arms. Fitbit has worked hard to make sure that our devices do not pick up false steps or activity recordings while driving. Unless you're driving in a car with a very stiff transmission or on bumpy roads, your device should not give you false readings. Also, if you place it in a surface with something vibrating or if you make hard hand movements. You can learn more about how your Fitbit tracks steps by checking the article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?

Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Additionally, please confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average.

Hi @Guy_, @MarreFitbit,@Thanks for your suggestion but, clock is not rebooting. It is shuting down and not getting restarting automatically unless i do it manually. I have to press that button on the left and turn it on. It happened last night also. Due to this its not calculating my sleep correctly.

(Mobile app calculates the sleep hours until the time watch was on)

Any thoughts or suggestions?
