Versa 4 observations

Hi

ok, so questions after having the Versa 4 for just over a week.

Why, when I start an exercise from the watch does it not talk to the app on my phone and tell it to start the GPS to track my route? (Yeah, i could enable GPS on the device, but why when my phone is in my pocket?)

Also, why, when I start the exercise from my phone (and it tracks the GPS) does it tell me that there is not enough heart rate data available? (my versa is logging this data to the app, i can see it right there.)

clearly this should just work, but maybe i'm missing something.

thanks

@SteveButts   Your new Versa 4 only has built in GPS.  It can't 'talk' to your phone and tell it to turn on your phone's GPS.  This is a firmware update rolling out that will allow you to use your phone's GPS.

When you start the exercise from your phone, you are using a feature called MobileRun.  MobileRun is a very old feature that I used with my One and Charge HR, two devices that don't have an exercise app.  It's changed a little over time and doesn't report heart rate.  You're not missing anything.  There are features in the app that evolved over time.
