Versa 4 overcounting steps

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Bought the Fitbit versa 4 a week ago . Tried it for a day was far to over sensitive said I'd had over 20 thousands steps and realised it was counting my hand movements . Tried to take back to Argos but they won't refund me as its been used . 150 pound for a watch I'm not going to use . How could Fitbit ever let these watches on to the shop shelf absolutely rubbish . I'll be going back to my Samsung band . Half the price and twice as good.  Shame on you Fitbit

Hi @mattfran11. Good to see you participating in the community.

Thanks for the details provided about the inconvenience with your Versa 4. I understand where your worry is coming from and sorry for the inconvenience.

If you have MobileTrack connected to your Fitbit app, it could be tracking those extra steps. To verify this, please in the Fitbit app, on the Today tab > then tap the upper left corner icon Devices. In this section you'll see your Versa 4 and below your phone (in case MobileTrack is indeed connected).

If the above describes your situation, you can remove MobileTrack by tapping on the phone's icon and then select "Remove From Account".

Nevertheless, to make sure that your Versa 4 is accurately tracking your steps, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Hi @mattfran11 - did you try to contact Fitbit directly because if you are unhappy with the watch Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy which may apply in some conditions.

You can always chat via the Fitbit App, Help & support section, Contact Customer support.

It may be that the phone is also connected, in the Fitbit App, device page (Connected to), remove the phone from the account if it's connected.
