Versa 4 problems and glitches

I have had this watch for just over a year, got it as an upgrade from a Versa 1. To be honest though it feels in many ways more like a downgrade, for various reasons. The main problem I am having with it is the screen is very unstable and glitchy in terms of tapping and scrolling. It is worst in the Timer app where it is very difficult to control. I try to scroll through the numbers and it goes out of control, suddenly scrolling at speed by itself. Also when I try to move by a number or two it won’t settle on what I have set and moves away either by going to the next or last number or two, or fast-scrolling through multiple numbers. Or else it will just exit the Timer app while I am in the middle of trying to set it. This is very frustrating. Same with the alarms. Also sometimes if I just hover my finger over the exercise app it will start on an exercise by itself, even though I have that turned off in the settings. It’s as if it is too sensitive and over-reacting somehow. This never happened on my Versa 1 which was rock solid.

I have tried a factory reset and staying with the default clock face but it still behaves the same. Is this a common issue with the V. 4 or does it sound like mine is faulty? It is still under warranty so I could maybe get a replacement. However I’d prefer to see if it’s a setting I don’t know about, or a software/firmware problem or whatever before I return it.

The other thing is in the app it keeps saying that the Notification service is not running and that a phone restart is required. However I restart my phone every morning anyway, having turned it off the night before. The only way to get Notifications to work is to delete the app’s data and to set it all up again. I have to do this every day when I turn on the phone, which is another pain. It was the same with the Versa 1.

Has anyone had similar experiences or could anyone suggest how to fix these issues, especially the scrolling one? Thanks.

After doing the factory reset it will no longer sync. It just shows a red exclamation mark which glitches every few seconds. I tried re-starting both the phone and the watch but it still won’t sync. This is just getting worse, though the scrolling in Timer was a little better today.

Can anyone help with this please? At least before the reset I could use it..

Edit: I did another factory reset, just about managed to get it set up but now it just won’t sync again, Disastrous.

I've given up and changed it for a Huawei as it was still under warranty from Harvey Norman. Much better so far.
