My Versa 4 seemed to factory reset itself the other day without me doing anything. I was able to connect my watch to my Fitbit again (once I 'forgot' the device manually in the Android bluetooth settings).
But now the watch has all the default tiles, instead of my custom selection. When I try use the Fitbit app to edit them, there are a few weird issues, and the changes aren't applied to my Versa after I sync.
Specifically:
- If I choose Tiles in settings I see what I expect: 2 of them are selected (the ones I was using before the reset). But if I tap Manage My Tiles at the bottom, it says I have 0.
- If I hit the back button and tap Manage again, I see my expected 2 tiles. (But not the other 5 that are currently displayed on my Versa.)
- I'm unable to add tiles. Choosing one from the list and pressing Install gives me a brief loading bar, and then it seems to complete successfully, showing an Uninstall button. But after a few more seconds it flips right back to an Install button.
- I also noticed a few screens where the app draws content overlapping the status bar and the Android nav buttons; it seems like they're painting in unsafe areas because they're missing a scaffold or whatever to wrap the app content.
- That last issue is unrelated but it makes me wonder if the tiles part of the app is newly redesigned and haven't been tested as thoroughly.
My Pixel 9 is updated to the latest version and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app. The Versa is syncing with my phone normally, and I've been able to successfully install watch faces, just not tiles.
