Versa 4 screen spazzing and clicking randomly

I had “upgraded” to a Versa 4 after enjoying a versa 2 for a few years. The screen on this new watch decides to randomly click all over the screen. It will swipe to new pages on its own. It’s gone and changed do not disturb settings and night time setting through the quick settings menu multiple time. Scrolling doesn’t work cuz it scrolled back up to the top on its own before I could even read what I needed to. It has sent responses to text messages without me even knowing. It will randomly turn the screen of and on by itself even with the button only option turned on.

The screen is clean with no extra attachments or covers on it that might be causing this. I have been very careful not to smack the watch on anything since I started to wear it. I have factory reset and reinstalled updates multiple times and still no change. I even left it un-updated and it kept trying to pick German as my language for me during the pairing process.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this and is there any kind of fix?

Hi there, @Jack9876 @Rachezee. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 devices are acting odd. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If you haven't done so yet, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

@Jack9876 would you mind sharing with me the steps you took to perform a factory reset? Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

I went in through the settings menu on the watch itself to the about Versa 4 tab and completed a factory reset. I also removed the device from my fit bit app and re added later as a new watch. But the issue was still on the watch right after the factory settings because when I turn the watch back on before I could even synchronize it to my phone and redownload updates it was still scrolling and clicking languages I didn’t know.
