update: issue is fixed - all is good
My versa four seems to underestimate steps on every every walk I take. Today I walked exactly 2 miles. I got credit for 3447 steps. Using simple math, 5280 ft./ mile, total of 10,560 feet for total exercise. This equates to 126,720 inches. using my stride rate of 22.9 inches per step I calculate I should receive 5533 steps. this is very close to what I would get using the old Fitbit zip.
This issue is consistent. It is always underestimating the amount of steps. I’ve adjusted my stride length, my height, which wrist I have the device on, everything. But I can’t seem to get the watch to be accurate. Please help.

Hi there, @JeffF1968. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 4 before reaching out.
Do you have another app connected to your Fitbit account that could might be adding more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.
Know that you can edit your steps in the Fitbit app. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

The problem is my Fitbit is tracking too few steps. Not too many.

Hi @JeffF1968 - adjusting stride length or height won't change the steps counted.
Mine under counts during the overall day but is about the same during walking.
There is the option to sync the watch then try Shutdown from the watch Settings menu. Wait at least 10 seconds before placing on the charger to restart it and charge it.
