Hello there, @1954GP. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 4.

If you haven't done so yet, I recommend following the steps below:

- Remove the Versa 4 from your phone's Bluetooth settings and in the Fitbit app.
- Restart your Versa 4.
- Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.
- Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
- Set up your Versa 4.

If the issue persists, see Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Would be interested to see some additional feedback.  I too have followed the instructions provided and it doesn't seem to be working.  Nor does the link to Why can't I set up my FitBit device? help.
Don't understand why this two month old device is working fine, then all of a sudden I get nothing.  Then following the various forum posts I get to the situation similar to the title of this thread: unresponsive, black screen; holding the button gets the alternating flashing logo followed by the red X; my phone sees the device and wants to pair, it's the device that won't respond.
