Versa 4 stuck on the Fitbit logo

My futbit versa 4 keeps giving me a black screen , it doesn't vibrate when put in charge , I have tried factory reset multiple times the screen lights up gives me the fitbit logo then goes black again

I've had this device for only around 6 months and it's not broken and screen won't work

Hi there, @Mek1995. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is still stuck on the Fitbit logo. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Even when the screen seems to be dead, would you mind trying to sync? To do so, please try to manually sync your Versa 4 by tapping your profile picture >  your device image > Sync Now.  By doing this, a firmware update banner should appear.

If Sync Now doesn’t show an update banner, please tap your profile picture > your device image > Gallery. The app should show a popup to install the missing apps to install the missing apps and recover the device. If the firmware update banner does not show, press and hold the side button for 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on the screen, then release the button. For more information please visit How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If none of the above works, please try once again a manual factory reset: Press and hold the button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off and vibrates. When you feel the vibration, release the button, then immediately press and hold the button again. Wait for the Fitbit logo to appear, then as soon as the logo disappears, release the button, then press and hold the button again. When you feel the vibration, release the button, then wait for the watch to complete the factory reset.

@Mek1995 Thanks for getting back to me and for the update.

Since all the steps you tried didn't work, you have a Versa 4 and report it's not responding nor connecting, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.

This form is only meant for you to use, so let me know once you’re done. Click here to get access to it.

I have done everything and contacted support. This is what happened with live support.

I called them and they had me take it off the charger hold the button 10 seconds, let go one second, hold the button another 10 seconds, let go one second, hold the button another 10 seconds and then let go. The rep told me to do this while it was OFF the charger. I saw that it had started to load the new firmware but never did. He came back on the line and said sorry you are out of warranty so here is a 35% coupon. I told him to keep it that I was switching to Apple. This is a FITBIT ISSUE and you are telling me it’s my problem?! Sounds like they are in a financial bind and screwed something up on purpose so they could generate some revenue.

After I hung up I did the same routine 2 more times while ON the charger and the firmware loaded to the watch. I was able to re pair the watch to the phone and adjust my settings. 5 minutes later it was back to the blink, blink, X. SO FRUSTRATING.

Ditto, same issue.  This is a bad update and now I am being told this cannot be fixed.  After three years and three Versas, I am done!

I couldn’t have said it better. I will never purchase another Fitbit again. I am absolutely disgusted with their ‘resolution’ (buy a new Fitbit) to the problem that THEY created.

they deleted my post... I agree 100% with you. We are not alone and there appears to be many people having the same issue. Maybe Fitbit will actually come to their senses, fix their app, and take responsibility on what they did.

I was able to getting going again and download (even more) firmware. Had it
all connected and set up to the phone and then 5 minutes after it’s on the
wrist, it loses its link to the phone and app and POOF blink blink X screen
of death. The only thing that has worked for me is making sure it’s
forgotten on ur phone and the app, then going through the hold 10 seconds,
pause, 3x then release and see if by some miracle the firmware loads. I’d
try it both while it’s on the charger and off the charger.

I have gone through two whole cycles where it finally restarts, goes through a couple up upgrades, works for awhile and then craps out again. Done with it until Fitbit gets their act together.

Hi Maria,

I'm experiencing exact the same thing: black screen, even after it having charged a few times during hours, just the Fitbit logo appears (sometimes), but nothing else. I'm trying to follow your advice, but when I click on my profile pic, I get the following message:

Any suggestion what else I can do?

I am also experiencing the same thing. Constant buzzing, logo flashing and red X. Nothing I do works after following all the steps you've provided to everyone else. Is there a permanent fix to this or am I just wearing a useless device now?
