Is anyone else finding that the touch screen on the fit bit versa 4 doesn't always work?
Its really annoying. But I know if I send it back under warranty it would say well its working in the two seconds I looked at it.
Disappointing as its not cheap.

Sad to hear that you're having an issue with your Versa 4.
If you haven't done so yet, I'd suggest to try if restarting your device will get things fixed. To do so, please keep your Versa 4's button pressed for around 10 seconds until you'll see the Fitbit logo on it's display.

As @Talahthas has suggested, please restart your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.
