Versa 4 voice replies not working

Hi, I’m experiencing an issue with the transcription tool on my Fitbit Versa 4. It is currently not working at all.

I have:

  • The most recent version of the Fitbit app

  • Restarted both my phone and watch multiple times

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the app

  • Checked and re-established Bluetooth connections

  • Verified all required permissions

Despite all of this, the transcription feature remains non-functional. Need this fixed because I use this feature while at work and while driving.

Hi there, @Shadzz. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that the voice replies on your Versa 4 are still not working. I understand your concern and how important this feature is to you. 

Please note that we’re currently working to resolve this issue and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

In addition to the steps you've tried, please check and try the following:

  1. Check Microphone Permissions (Phone Side): Even if the app was reinstalled, the phone OS might be blocking the microphone's "background" use. On your phone, you should go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit > Permissions and ensure Microphone and Nearby Devices (on Android) are set to "Allow all the time."

  2. Toggle "Background Activity": Ensure the Fitbit app is not being "optimized" by the phone's battery saver. If the app is put to sleep in the background, the transcription data can't reach the servers.

Days later and still awaiting a resolution. If so many persons are having issues it is definitely not a localized issue. This needs to be addressed.

So glad it's not just me it's not working for... I even went and bought myself a new Fitbit as I thought mine had broken

I've been having trouble for a while and thought it was just me, glad to see its a problem. However if someone first mentioned it in February, why has it still not been sorted nearly a month later. FitBit please get this sorted, its one of the reasons I purchased this version for voice replies

Thinking of upgrading/replacing my versa 4 with google pixal 3.  anyone know if this issue occurs on the pixal 3 too?
