My android phone will not pair with my versa 4, i am unsure what i have done wrong when setting up

I purchased brand new fitbit versa 4 watch in India in December. From day 1 the watch is not working. I am tired of reaching customer support team and tried all the workarounds they mentioned. Still the watch is not functional and not even showing the time
The firmware is not getting updated in the new watch and app says updating and that it no other usage of it

This is the exact issue my husband is having with his. Contacted support etc and still nothing. My returns limit has elapsed but clearly there is an issue with the watch or a major software glitch.
