Versa 4 won't reset

My wife's fitbit is stuck on this screen.

I have tried multiple times to do the reset using the button on the side, it'll vibrate and disappear but then it just goes back to this screen.

No idea what to try next as all the options involve navigating the watch itself when I can't access it.

Thank you.

Hey there @JoshBerrington, welcome to the Fitbit Community.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share the steps you've already tried. Let's work on getting this resolved!

I see that you tried to share a picture with us, but unfortunately, it didn't go through. Could you please try sharing it again? In any case, could you describe what type of screen you're seeing? Is it the Fitbit logo, or is it stuck on the clock face? Please let me know!

Meanwhile, changing the clock face through the Fitbit app can refresh the display.

My Fitbit is having a similar problem. It only lights up when connected to the charger. The icon is the Fitbit logo. It also buzzes when plugged in but that’s all. The button won’t reset it whether it’s connected or not. I’ve taken it off the charger after a day and the screen still doesn’t light up at all. I’ve only had it since December 2022. To try to fix it, I disconnected it from my phone since that’s worked before. The battery was not struggling before and this only started once it died this past weekend.

Hi Estuardo, I have hopefully uploaded the photo this time. This is the screen it is stuck on.

Thank you.

Hey there @JoshBerrington indeed, the picture is there! @Cherry2, Welcome to the Community.

Thanks for all the steps you've tried so far. Based on your picture, here's some advice before we continue.

First, let's try setting up your device as new. Here's how:

  1. Check if the Fitbit app has any updates.
  2. In the app, tap the watch and phone icon at the top.
  3. Tap 'Add New Device'.
  4. Choose your Versa 4 from the list.
  5. Tap 'Replace with New Versa 4'.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

You don't need to remove your device before doing this. Also, have your WiFi password ready, as you may need it again.

My app has no updates and the watch won’t connect to anything (including Bluetooth) It just sits on the Fitbit logo and unable to reset using multiple forums and having experience with a versa specifically for over 5 years.

Thanks @Cherry2, for letting me know that, let's try from a different point of view!

We have a way to factory reset your device without using the settings, this is a little tricky but let's try together.

  • Press and hold the device's button until the screen turns off, then begins to flash.
  • Release the button when the screen starts flashing, and immediately press and hold the button again.
  • Wait for the Fitbit logo to appear. Once the logo disappears and the screen begins to flash again, release the button, then press and hold the button again.
  • When the Fitbit logo appears, release the button, then wait for the watch to complete the factory reset.

Once you have done that, try to set up the device one last time!
