Versa 4 won't sync after a factory reset

Hi there, my Versa 2 would not load anything past the Fitbit logo for weeks and nothing was syncing to my iPhone. I restarted the phone and Fitbit multiple times, and when that did not help, I performed a factory reset (using instructions from other forum posts involving pressing the button then releasing then pressing again). During this process, I disconnected the Bluetooth between my phone and the Fitbit. At one point, the logo on the Fitbit screen was flashing with inverted colors and I got a red "X". And i was not sure if I felt a "longer vibration" that was mentioned in other forum posts as the sign that the factory reset occured. So I tried the factory reset again. I then tried to set up the Fitbit with my iPhone app again, and I got to the "Enter 4-digit code" screen on my iPhone, but my Fitbit screen does not show anything except a Fitbit logo no matter what I do.

This fitbit is about a year and a half old, I have noticed some glitches here and there throughout it's lifetime but never something like this. Please advise!

Hi there, @strongmango. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is stuck on the Fitbit logo. I understand how annoying this can be, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that the difficulty you are having to set up your Versa 4 usually happens when you perform a factory reset without first unpairing the watch. In order to solve this issue, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Thank you, I ended up having to redo the factory reset first (followed instructions from a previous post from Talahthas: To factory reset your Versa 4, first keep it's button pressed for around 10 seconds until you'll see the Fitbit logo flashing on it's display. Then release the button and immediately keep pressing it again until there's a circle around the Fitbit logo. Now release the button and wait until your device has restarted.). Then, I could follow your instructions and successfully set up my device again. Thanks!
