Versa 4 won't track my exercises properly

Hi, so my new Fitbit  (since Christmas) stops recording my walk before I'm finished and even though I've connected it it won't upload my walks to Strava. Occasionally it randomly uploads that I've done a run!! I NEVER run!

Also would like notifications of messages and can't seem to work that one out either!!😳

Please advise!

Hello @Avril1961 which mode are you using to record your walks. Manually starting the recording on your wrist, or letting fitbit decide?

Are your walks being recorded with GPS and the map is displayed in the Fitbit app?

Without this GPS detail, your walks will not be sent to Strava.

I use the GPS. In order for the map to show on the app I have to start the walk using my phone. It won't show the map if I start it from my watch.

For the last 5 days the GPS map turns off after less than .10 miles (one tenth of a mile). The watch now logs 2 walks. The very short one with the GPS map and the rest of the walk without the map

Using the phone for GPS is fine. Then, during the walk, do you move the fitbit app to the background?

If left in the foreground, it may be stopping when the screen turns off. It does stop with a firmware update.

The versa 4 has built in GPS but with its small antenna, sometimes it is hard to get a lock. I haven't had an issue, yet.
