Versa 4 won't turn on when a notification comes in

I recently upgraded from the Fitbit Versa 2 to the Versa 4 and have noticed a significant change in the notifications feature that I believe negatively impacts user experience.

On the Versa 2, whenever I received a notification, the watch would vibrate, the screen would automatically turn on within a couple of seconds, and the content of the message would be displayed immediately.

However, on the Versa 4, while the watch still vibrates to indicate a notification, the screen no longer turns on automatically. Instead, I now have to press the button manually to wake the screen (or move my wrist), then I only see the app icon associated with the notification (this step could be deleted completely - it only adds an unnecessary layer of complexity), and only after the message content finally appears. This process introduces a big delay and adds more steps to what was previously a seamless experience.

This change is not only inefficient but also makes it harder to quickly view notifications, which diminishes the overall usability of the device. From what I’ve observed, many users in the Fitbit community have raised concerns about this issue, yet there doesn’t seem to be any progress on addressing it.

I kindly urge the Fitbit team to consider reverting to the more streamlined notification system of the Versa 2 or providing an option to automatically display notification content as it arrives.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see a positive change in future updates.

Hi there, @Ivanaramos. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums.

Thanks for your question about adding this change to Fitbit Versa 4. The Versa 4 has a new operating system and lots of things work differently, therefore, what you are looking for is not possible at this time
