Versa 4 won't update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have followed the instructions to update my Versa 4 several times (more than 30 times) without success.

The quick view, incoming calls and viewing messages and emails have stopped working.

How can these problems be solved?

Hi there, @Dhredman. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 4 is not updating. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

To better assist you, please confirm that you've tried all troubleshooting steps provided here Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Regarding your second inquiry, it sounds like your Versa 4 is either on DND or sleep mode.

When the do not disturb setting is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders to move are muted.
  • The do not disturb icon illuminates in the quick settings.

When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders to move are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The Always-On Display clock face is turned off.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in the quick settings.

To exit any of those modes, swipe down from the clock face on your watch to access the quick settings.

If the above doesn't describe your issue, may I know if the notifications are not coming through whatsoever? Is the screen not turning on at all?

I have done all the suggested solutions without success.
The Fitbit is not updating.
In addition, the screen is not swiping up, down or across.

@Dhredman Thanks for confirming that you've tried all recommendations I provided.

As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa 4. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

With the above being said, please press and hold the button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off and vibrates. When you feel the vibration, release the button, then immediately press and hold the button again. Wait for the Fitbit logo to appear, then as soon as the logo disappears, release the button, then press and hold the button again. When you feel the vibration, release the button, then wait for the watch to complete the factory reset.

Now, please allow your Versa 4 a couple of days to receive the update.
