I get a vibration notification from my husbands phine when he messages,  but not my mother. She has an Apple. That wasn't an issue with Versa 3. Am I not setting something up right?

Please make sure your mother's iPhone is running iOS 15 or later to meet Fitbit's current system requirements.

Having just rethought your question I'm not sure if I got it right: Are you the one wearing a Versa 4 or your mom?
If you are wearing it, it's irrelevant which iOS version your mom's iPone is running because your Versa 4 should show you any notification your phone emits.
