I am new to Fitbit smartwatches, and smartwatches in general so this is probably a naive question. I'm wondering if I need to have a specific watch face active on my watch in order to have a specific analysis or feature working. For example, do I need to have Sleep Animals watch face active in order to get an animal assigned (after waiting for it of course)? And do I need an SPO2 watch face for enhanced oxygen measurements? I have 6 month premium so everything should work. The fitbit app gallery says that these watch faces use more battery which makes me think they are taking more measurements and/or recording more stuff, so I need to be using them for specific features to work. Is this correct?
I installed the sleep animals watch face, and I thought it would have all the animals on it until I get an animal chosen for me. But last night (first night I had the watch face), I saw the dolphin sleeping on it. And the dolphin won't wake up (maybe because it is not really my animal, since I just got the watch less than a week ago and should not have an animal yet). So I'm thinking of choosing another watch face for a while, because it is kind of boring to see a sleeping dolphin all day long :-/, but I am worried this will mess up the sleep animal function. I know, a very pressing matter. But the other cool things are (mostly) working fine so this is the main issue I'm puzzling over on my new watch.

@Biceboca To answer your SpO2 question first, you don't need a special clock face to see your results. Your SpO2 is one of your Today stats. To be clear, the SpO2 app reports your average SpO2 during sleep only. It doesn't report a range. If you want to see a range on a Versa 4, then you do need to download something like the SpO2 Signature clock face, which shows the range on the clock face.
With respect to your sleep animal question, you need 14 nights of sleep with sleep stages in June to get your personalized sleep animal on July 1. I can't confirm how the My Sleep Animal clock face behaves for a new user like you. I already had a sleep animal when this clock face was released. You may or may not see the pile of animals shown in that one screenshot. From time to time, the Gallery screenshots aren't in the final product. According to the information, your animal will wake up at 9 AM and go to sleep at 9 PM. This clock face uses additional battery, so your Versa 4 will need more frequent charging.

Thank you @LZeeW ! I did remove the animals watch face. But I think what happens before you have an animal is, the sleeping creature is under a blanket. Because the second night it was a different animal, mostly hidden by a blanket. So maybe a blanket is hiding it (with tiny animal pieces sticking out to let me guess what it might be, which is how I knew it was dolphin the first night) because I do not have an animal yet. So the animal does not wake up all day because the clock face wants to hide the animal under a blanket 🙂
I will reinstall the clock face at the start of July. It is a fun feature.
