What exactly is my Fitbit tracking here?

I looked in the user manual, but this metric isn't explained. What is 22'25"? Or 24'59" avg? Average what? The metric is dynamic and changes constantly while I'm walking, but I honestly don't know what it's telling me. Someone mentioned to me that it's my pace, but I still don't understand. As I'm walking, the first number is always in the 20s or 30s. It goes up, it goes down. On the summary it shows a little stopwatch, but...I still don't get it. It certainly isn't miles per hour. Please enlighten me! fitbit walk data1.jpgfitbit walk data2.jpg

@sharonindenver   Runners tend to track their pace.  Most walkers think of speed.  Here are a few easy conversions.

  • A 30’00” pace is 2 mph
  • A 20’00” pace is 3 mph
  • A 15’00” pace is 4 mph

You were walking a little slower than 3 mph.  Many users asked Fitbit to use speed in the walk shortcut.  Or let users select.  Fitbit consistently says there are no plans to offer this.

Minutes and seconds per mile, strange symbols I know.  Look like feet and inches.  The changing one is current, like inverse speed right now.

I'll be your exception to proves the rule.  MPH walking means nothing to me.  I want to know minutes per mile.
