Hi @bluey52 - as a first step try holding the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start.
Also consider changing clock face.
When you pull down on the watch face to get to Quick Settings make sure the settings are correct.
If you don't sync for a day and the watch loses time, it isn't a good one and can be replaced with a refurbished one under warranty, if it is still covered.
Or you can make sure it always automatically syncs, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

@bluey52 - thanks, cleaning it won't help the time or syncing problem.
Sometimes it's the clock face so if you have changed it and it still does it, you could try a factory reset (not without risk) though it is unlikely to fix it.
If it's under warranty consider replacing it as it should be able to keep the correct time whether it syncs or not.
