problems with my new Versa 4

I was perfectly happy with my 3 year old Fitbit. Now my wife has bought me the new Versa4 for my birthday in January this year.  Honestly, it might be very clever but it simply doesn't seem to work consistently!!

In just 6 weeks I have had to reboot it 3 times because of one problem or another....

Every time I log on to my PC it tells me it is trying to bond.... so it closes bluetooth and re connects etc. Is therre some problem because I also have it paired to my phone as well as my tablet?

On Sunday the heart monitor just stopped.  Tried all the recommended answers but eventually just had to reboot.

Yesterday I played badminton  (as i do every week) for an hour and a half. Normally it manages to auto record this but yesterday it only got 10 minutes plus 20 minutes!  Surely it can handle a few minutes gap between matches?

I have Atrial Fibulation so a lot of the Premium features don't work....

Can I return the Versa 4 and get a refund so then I can buy a simpler, more reliable Fitbit?

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @pops73!

Sad to hear that you're having issues with your new Versa 4. I'd like to address some of the points you've mentioned to hopefully solve some of those issues.

First of all, syncing with a PC is no longer supported since fall 2022. Beyond that you should have your Fitbit device only paired with one mobile device at the same time. So, as you already have suspected, you should remove your Versa 4 from either your tablet or your phone. It might even be advisable to remove it from both devices and set it up from scratch on the device you'll prefer using for your Fitbit app from now on.

Coming to your issue with your Versa 4 not tracking your heart rate constantly, you hopefully find a solution in this article:

How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?

Further more, restarting your Versa 4 can fix issues. You can do that by pressing and holding the side button for 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo is displayed.

And in the end there's Fitbit's return policy, just in case you really don't want to keep your new Versa 4:

Fitbit Return and Warranty Policy

I myself am very satisfied with my Versa 4 although there have been some hiccups in the beginning. I'd give it another try before throwing in the towel.

OK, thanks for half an answer...
So I have to just pair with my phone- that's simple enough (although annoying).
As I'm sure you know, none of the articles about measuring heartrate have anything to do with why it should suddenly stop working.
What about why it didn't auto record full badminton session, as it used to? I don't want to be having to press start exercise every time I play.
