Since it's clear that Fitbit's intent is to abandon it's blaze users (ie pretending they don't exist and rolling out the Versa as it's replacement while simultaneously providing little to no software updates to the Blaze).
I was just wondering if it is Fitbit's intent to let it's abandoned Blazer users/customers replace their now phased out product at no cost and/or a substantial discount to current Blaze owners. Given they do fundamentally the same things (literally the only difference is you can swim with the Versa, it has 'apps' and you can send generic text replies) this makes sense for the current owners of the abandoned Blaze.
I would like to hear from an actual Fitbit administrator is possible. Thanks.

@grayskies Thanks for your concerns and feedback about Blaze. As we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools. We don't offer any upgrade or trade-in programs for new products, but we will continue to support Blaze here on the Community. If there are future firmware updates for it, I'll make sure to announce it in the Blaze forum. Let me know if I can help with anything else!

Does Apple still support the original iPhone?

A more related question would be:
Doesn't apple still allow old models to be traded in for money when they replace them with yearly updated versions that they added one new feature to?
Cheeky comments are unnecessary.

I'm sure you can trade in your Fitbit Blaze, either with Fitbit or somewhere else. But it is unfair to ask Fitbit to replace your Blaze at no cost. I have a Fitbit Blaze as well and even if Fitbit is not providing any major updates to it, it works as advertised. It does track stuff properly. It does all the fitness things just as well as when it came out and I still get 5 days of battery life just as before. And I don't even no what updates they can do to it either. There is really no features this needs. So I think Blaze users aren't entitled to any such things as Fitbit did not cause us any inconvenience.

It's not an unfair request, the Versa has features that could have been added to the existing product - Blaze.

I sold my old fitbit blaze on a facebook garage sale site.
Eventually all companies stop supporting and updating older models. Even if they offer some money for parts, its pennies compared to what you can get to sell it third party. My sons ipad is like that. Yes, i could sell it to apple for crap or just let him keep using it as it works just fine just doesn't get any of the newer updates from apple or certain apps

But they also changed the look to rival the Apple Watch, which is what a lot of people want. And they updated the operating system, so no, they couldn't just put that into the Blaze.
Just like phones, smartwatches are changing and quickly.

Well for the people who don't drool over new tech (ie oh my god it looks like an apple watch!) this doesn't help.
Also none of you guys are actually fitbit administrators haha
Which is really the only person this question was for.

Here's the thing, asking for a free Versa is like wearing a pair of shoes for a year and the new style for the new year comes out and you want to return them as an even trade. That's not how it works! If that were the case companies would never make money. But the same people who expect that kind of "deal" would complain a new update never came out. Places that do have insane return/exchange policies, such that you seem to favor, build that into the price and you pay for it anyhow. If this such policy existed it would be pasted all over the website as a "perk". And if you don't want people of the community pointing out that your question isn't gonna give you the result you don't want, then don't post on the forum where people weigh in. That's what forums are.

Honestly, you wrote a lot, and again you're not an administrator so it's a waste of time to read it...
I will await a response from an actual person that works at Fitbit. Opinions of others not really necessary. That's what a FITBIT forum is for.

I don't think a software update would actually work to add the additional features. The amount memory that is in the blaze and versa are different and it wouldn't operate the same. That's not something that could change thru a update that they put out. They would need to change its internal workings along with making it waterproof
The Blaze was never considered a smart watch...

My Blaze worked perfectly, I loved it, and I had it for over year. When Fitbit announced the Versa, I was quite excited about the new look and technology available. I do understand that products are improved over time! I too was so excited about the Versa that I sold my Blaze in order to help pay (and give me some rationale) for the additional cost to upgrade!
Choosing to upgrade my Blaze was on me. I don't believe that Fitbit promised me unlimited updates on the Blaze, and the technology itself did work as promised. 🙂

It might not be an unfair request, but then asking the comunity of Fitbit users what the Fitbit company is thinking. Makes me wonder what the expected response was .

I doubt an administrator will answer the question. Companies update products all the time; is your Blaze defective? If not you purchased a working product and that's still working as advertised. Versa is a new design and there is no way to make the Blaze a Versa. Just the engineering involved in waterproofing is enormous. No doubt the processor and sensors are updated and the logic board would, by necessity, be totally different as it's an updated different product. I'm curious what do you think a fair discount would be?

That is a brilliant idea! I would love to be able to trade in my Blaze and support Fitbit's new products. Seems to me that would make sense for the company to keep their current customers. I would never think of asking for a free trade up... but asking for a discount with trade in, would be very reasonable and cool.

You don't trade your phone into Apple; you trade your phone into Verizon who in turn will refurbish or sell for parts.

Having the option to trade-in would certainly be welcome and it would be a hassle free option for many to get some money back for old electronics and help pay for new ones. I am totally behind this idea!
But, an official trade-in is still not necessarily the best option. You will likely get more money back if you try to sell it as a used item yourself. Trade-ins usually low ball the value because they too need to make a profit in reselling your item as a used/refurbished product. So, if you have the patience and savvy to sell it yourself, you can do a far better job of getting more value for your item than a trade in. Try selling it on Facebook or eBay or Amazon (or if you are up to the challenge and risk - craigslist) or a regular garage sale.

Great response litetaker I didn't think about that. So here's my next questions; what would you suggest to be a responsible offer? Owned 1.5 years. works great, protected glass.... Thanks in advance for your response 🙂
