Fitbit companion app - strange notification situation

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa (firmware 32.32.10.15) is paired with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x (Android 7.0, MIUI Global 9.6):

- FitBit app is added to autostart, Fitbit notification services is enabled in a system settings

- I'm receiving notifications (however quick replies don't work, reported another ticket)

However every time I open ANdroid Fitbit companion app I see screen "Notification required for connectivity features"

Not a big thing but it's quite annoying...

Sorry, it didn't help 😞 As I said, notifications work fine. The only problem is - annoying message about notification everytime I open the app.

My thought would be to go into your phones settings Apps or permission, revoke fitbits permission to notification.
Now go into the Fitbit app, and turn on notifications, the phone should ask for permission, which you will want to grant.

Thanks, I did already - didn't help.

What I don't understand is

@badzio while I haven't seen this message, I know that notification services need to be on for connected GPS to work.

What is the connection between notification and GPS, why do I need GPS to be enabled in order to avoid annoying info about notification?

I'm not saying GPS needs to be connected .

Your message you are receiving states .Notification required for connectivity features

Well there are s couple of connectivity features I can think of, GPS, notifications, and since we are talking about the Versa, there might be a few app that want to connect to the phone.

They all use notification services to connect, and will not be able to if notification services are turned off or not responding.

A restart of my phone usually gets everything back on track .

I was just using GPS as an example of a connected connection that needs notification services running.

You other post, not helpful to you when  cross posting, says that you receive notifications.

My thought would be to restart notifications and renew the permissions.
