My Versa (firmware 32.32.10.15) is paired with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x (Android 7.0, MIUI Global 9.6). I've two problems with Quick Replies:

- I've no option on my watch to use quick reply for any any notification (sms, incoming call, email etc) 

- I'm not able to change default replies on FitBit companion app - in the theory I can write new custom replies but I'm not able to save them (i.e. every time I go to this option I see again default replies)

You custom notifications will not be changed if the Fitbit app is unable to communicate with the tracker.

This may be related to your problem here.

Having no option on the watch to reply is definitely related to 

 

However every time I open ANdroid Fitbit companion app I see screen "Notification required for connectivity features"
