Hi there,
the Versa does not have an "always-on" display, but can be activated by pressing a button, tab or arm movement. The latter causes the display to turn on constantly at night, which not only disturbs sleep, but also dramatically decreases the battery life.
Is there a function to leave the display deactivated if a sleep phase is detected?
I look forward to your feedback.

This, at the very least, is a great suggestion. While the display has never woken me up, it is certainly distracting as I am falling asleep. I'll normally move a couple times trying to get in the right position to sleep, and I'll spot it lit at least twice.

Thats right. The watch knows when I'm asleep (and so I don't need the display) - it should be easy to toggle the automatic display control when the watch recognizes my sleep.
Another possibility is, that the auto display is toggled when my bed time comes active. But please @Fitbit don't wait to long with this fix. This problem is horrible for the battery life time and really annoying for my girlfriend.

I had to turn off the wrist motion to turn the display on on my Alta and expect to have to do the same on the Versa. The brightness of the screen wakes me up at night.
It would be awesome to automatically turn that off when you're sleeping. You're totally right that the watch knows you're sleeping, so why can't they turn it off?

The thing is, you can turn off that on the versa just with pressing and holding a button.
Why would Fitbit need to code a new feature and implement it into a watch's software trying to not mess things up for other users when you already have the option to do it on your own in just two to three seconds?
In fact, why would other users who may prefer having the watch turn on by simply moving their wrist when they wake up in the middle of the night to check the time be affected because you refuse to use the tools that the watch gives to you to make it more comfortable?
While it would be nice to have more options to customize Screen Wake, things could get worse by trying to "fix" something that really doesn't need to be fixed.

Totally disagree with this as there can be an easy "fix".
A do not disturb feature that you could set between certain times would solve this problem for a lot of people. I've requested this feature going on 3 years.

Interesting, I read somewhere that there's a Do Not Disturb feature on the Versa, don't think it includes the screen waking but maybe they can add it?!

The "Quick View" feature (lift wrist to wake screen) can at least be turned off manually, but I agree it would be nice to be able to turn it off just during certain hours, or automatically during sleep.
Unfortunately, I've had my Quick View turned off since day one on my Blaze. It is the Tap to Wake functionality that activates my screen constantly at night (disturbing) and during the day (battery depleting). There is no way at all to turn this functionality off.
I seriously just want only the buttons to turn on the screen. I don't see why this is so much to ask? All I need is a toggle to turn it off, just like Quick View has, which should be a very simple implementation. This is literally the only thing that has kept me from ordering a newer device from Fitbit. I cannot have a sleep tracker that disturbs my sleep.
Sadly, this functionality has been requested in multiple forms for 3 years, and still nothing has been done about it. See the following feature suggestion, which is the second most requested feature in the forum. It is set as only "Under Consideration", and those of us with older, but still current, devices have basically been told "too bad": https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Turn-off-quick-view-when-I-m-sleeping-or-at-cust...

ah I see, it's really an old idea - but why is such a basic functionality still missing? really hope for more customer orientation...

I would like this too. More simply, create a scheduled "button only" mode that users can set to coincide with their sleep times.

Sorry. You are plain wrong. This cannot be fixed via the watch menu. Do you own a Versa? Please read through the post from actual Versa owners experiencing the problem. This is a defect which needs fixing.

I just received the Versa, and yes I realize the watch wakes up in the middle of the night with the slightly movement and the battery drain very quickly.

If you press and hold the side button, scroll up to Screen Wake and you can turn this off by tapping on it.
To ' wake ' the screen you'd need to just press the side button.
I find this handy when going to sleep. You can ' active ' Screen Wake when you aren't asleep during the day by doing the same, press and hold the side button.
Hope this helps.
