Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could help me. I am into running and tracking my miles and pace, I am interested in the new Versa however, will it track my pace per mile & mileage properly if my phone loses internet connection whilst I am running? Or do I need to be connected via 4G throughout the whole run in order to see my pace and miles?
Thank you!

It will continue to display those stats even if your phone loses cellular connectivity.
I went hiking up Mount Snowdon with my Blaze which also uses connected GPS. Somewhere close to the summit I lost cellular, but the Blaze continued tracking no problem. As long as your phone has a GPS fix and your device is connected via Bluetooth you'll be fine.
Hope this helps.

Connected GPS would be through your phones DATA connection, and yes, if you hit a dead spot, you're tracking will suffer. You could also lose Bluetooth connection, which I'm dealing with on my two year old Blaze. Built in? There is a very large thread going on about the Ionic and GPS issues here https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Ionic/Ionic-GPS-Inaccuracies/m-p/2254657#M9618
As Fitbit will tell you, the trackers are meant for motivation and not exact science. Good luck. Let us know what you decided and how it worked out.

GPS fix? Never heard of that and maybe I don't have it.

Yes, you do. GPS fix just means "strong enough GPS signal".

My experience with this seems to suggest that without internet connectivity, the connected GPS seems very terrible. I had a lot of difficulty tracking my location the last two days when I went out for hikes in places with no cellular network reception at all! Very disappointed to be honest.
