Recently quite few suggested features have been closed as not planned and users have been invited to work with publicly available API and SDK.
Does anybody know the API that can be utilized for the following:
Allow 3rd party meditation app (Calm, Headspace, Insight times)
Integration with external HR sensor and Stryd
Allow third-parties to access live heart rate data (so Fitbits can act as HR monitors)
I'm tagging @JonFitbit, mod at the SDK section, to avoid duplication of this post as the replied by the mods are calling also SDK integration.
Thanks for your assistance.

Hi @Giampi71,
Thanks for your interest in the Fitbit Web API and SDK and I'll be happy to clarify the topics below:
- Allow 3rd party meditation app (Calm, Headspace, Insight times)
- Our Web API does not support any meditation/stress management data at this time so 3rd party meditation apps may not find our API useful unless they are interested in collecting activity, sleep, heart rate, nutrition data from Fitbit users. As the moderator in that thread stated, the Web APIs is an open API, so if you're interested in seeing more integrations with Fitbit, it's recommended that you express your interest to the service owners of the 3rd party application to create an integration with Fitbit.
- Integration with external HR sensor and Stryd
- Fitbit devices are the only devices that can communicate with the Fitbit application. There are no plans of changing this in the near future.
- Allow third-parties to access live heart rate data (so Fitbits can act as HR monitors)
- This post is outdated and is now possible using the Device SDK and Companion API. @JonFitbit can share more details about this.
- Pixel Buds Integration
- It is too early to tell at this point how Google devices will interact with Fitbit, and I'm sorry I can't provide you with a better answer for this. In the meantime, I recommend that if you have a question about your Google product, visit the Google support center to get help directly from the team that supports Pixel Buds. You can find all your contact options here: https://support.google.com/googlepixelbuds/gethelp
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
