I've been looking around to identify if the fitbit API allows access to the ambient light sensors to develop an app, but I have not had any success. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

there is no API to access the Fitbit devices, and no other way to do.

the API exists only to access the data stored on Fitbit servers.
