Hello,
I am mobile developper using Health Connect.
I find out that Fitbit application send all his activities to Health Connect with metadata.recordingMethod fixed to "androidx.health.connect.client.records.metadata.Metadata.RECORDING_METHOD_AUTOMATICALLY_RECORDED" even when data is manually added on Fitbit application.
I already talk to https://support.google.com/fitbit/gethelp and they did not help at all "the issue came from health connect", i doubt 😅. Google Fit manage this correctly for information. 3 apps (Fit, Fitbit, Health connect), 1 house (Google) and not even close to make it work properly as it should do.
It's possible to fix this issue in your Android Fitbit app please ?
Regards,

Thank you for revealing this. I am having a nightmare pulling my HeartRateRecord or heart rate from health connect into Tasker. Are you experiencing the same thing? I just want my phone to play an audio file when my bpm goes above 63 after 65am every morning

Hi @pécé, welcome to the forums!
This issue is generally out of our scope of support, but I've did some quick tests on trying to reproduce it.
Here's a summary of what the results I got. I'm using this Fitbit app version: 4.57.fitbit-mobile-1103870937-830195696
The Steps data marked as AUTOMATICALLY_RECORDED has already been reported to the Fitbit app engineering team and they are working on its fix.
If you find additional issues in the Fitbit app, please don't hesitate to report them in their support channel.
Hope this helps!
