Fitbit-flex as watch and memory band

Hello fitbit developers!

I have got myself a fitbit flex - and think from a design point of view this little black band, with 5 lights and a vibrate, would make a really cool watch and memory band.

However it would need a few ediits to the software inside. I imagine for the "watch" function I simply need to get the fitbit to display a preprogrammed light combination at a specific time.

For the "memory band" feature, I want people to be able to tap a specific pattern/rhythem onto their smart phone screen, and have the same rythem repeated on the wearers arm at the apropriate time.

a few questions.

1. Assuming 4 lights are on all the time, How long would the battery on the flex last, and if this is really low, can I overide the double-tap so it displays the "time" instead of fitness prorgess?

2. does the above sound doable, and fairly simple?

3. Is anyone wanting to help me on this. I has the creatives, I has the idea that I think would seriously improve the fitbit-flex, but I don't have any coding experience and doubt I would be able to tackle such a project on my own.

Many thanks

@theBreadSultan This isn't the correct forum for requests, you would need to post, or vote for, request in the Feature Request forum.

I'm not trying to make a feature request. I want to be able to make it myself... That's why I am asking about coding it...it should be very straight forward

Tbh tho....seems like fitbit mite be a bit fail, which is a pity, as the fitbit - flex has the makings of being a design classic, and what with the way they are rampantly being given out for free.. (I got mine free with a phone that cost me £100 to buy outright..tho I did get a v good deal)

Small, plain rubberised slightly rugged arm band that contains technology and is useful, will make someone a lot of money.

An unprogramable, un changeable device, that I have to wear, who's only real advantage over the Microsoft health and wellbeing app (which came preloaded on the phone) is that I can feel silent alarms on my wrist.

If I cant use this thing as a watch ever...it will come off the wrist soon, and end up on ebay hawked for whatever sum of money I can raise for it...

I doubt I would be alone in that...so yea...

Lets make this little device not suck as much by giving it some usability...

So yea...anyone want to help me.programme a watch?

@theBreadSultan Fitbit does not currently allow any interaction with their trackers by third parties, the API is only for getting data to/from their servers. (Why it is called a Web API.)

If you want to be able to put custom code on your Flex you would need to post, or vote for an existing, feature request.
