Getting activity totals for "This Week"

In the mobile app, you can view "This Week" totals by clicking on a particular resource, say "Steps".

 

I'm looking to replicate the same thing via the API.  I noticed that the API returns "Weekly Goals" but I could not find any endpoint that provides "This Week" values.

 

Is the expected practice to make multiple calls to build up the week and sum the results?
