In TCX files or the Fitbit API, is there a way to tell if a trackpoint occurred during a workout pau

I’m trying to figure out which timestamps in the granular TCX data fall during a workout pause. This matters because Fitbit recommends calculating speed as distance / time (hours), and without knowing pause periods, that calculation is wrong for paused workouts. I’ve tried detecting pauses by looking for time gaps or when distance doesn’t change, but that approach creates too many false positives. Anyone know a better way?

Hi @chillv

As we discussed earlier, the mobile app shows pauses in exercises on the map when GPS is used.  However, that information is not exposed through the public Web API.  The only information I can see through the public endpoint that represents a pause occurred is the duration and activeDuration values returned by the Get Activity Log List.   "duration" is the length of the exercise including pauses.   "activeDuration "is the length of the exercise without the pauses.  We do not state when the pause occurred.  It appears to be supported with a walk and a workout.  And, I have added your name to the feature request.
