Java OAuth API method resourceCredentials.isAuthorized() failing sometimes

I am observing for past 2 days that the method resourceCredentials.isAuthorized() is failing sometimes when user tries to link his/her device after getting redirected to fitbit website and entering credentials there and clicking allow button.

What can be the cause ?
