Live HR Data or Display

It sounds like there is no support for developers to access the live heart rate data. I've seen some posts from 2015 that said it was coming soon, but it looks like it never came.

(1) is the feature ever coming?

(2) if not, can Fitbit please build a way for the users to have some kind of screen that is always on displaying their current heart rate in large numbers so they can use it while working out? This could be page on Fitbit mobile app, or a screen on device itself.

My use case:

I have Charge 3 HR and row on my rowing machine and ideally would be able to see my heart rate as I'm rowing.

I first came here to see if data was available for me to build my own app that was also connected to my rowing device so I could see heart rate and rowing intensity on the same plot.

Hi @SunsetRunner

The Web APIs were not designed to provide live heart rate data.  However, we have released an SDK for our smart watches that does let you see near real-time heart rate data.  Check out the documentation: https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/device-api/.

One caveat, the Device SDK only works on the smart watches (Ionic and Versa family).  If you want to stay with the Charge 3, the heart rate data is available after the device sync's with our servers manually or every 15 minutes while the Fitbit mobile application is running.

Also, support for the Device SDK can be found in the SDK forums: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/SDK-Development/bd-p/sdk
