Did you mean:

Notifications / rate limit

ANSWERED

Hi,

I started to receive 'Rate limit reached' emails for some of our users so I started to investigate the problem.

What I have found out is that sometimes for some users we get bursts of notification about new data available.

Usually we got 1 notification per 30 minutes per user, but sometimes notification rate jumps to 2 per second for particular users.

I would like to check if this is normal behavior for device/app communication? Does it mean that when user is extremely active his data are synced to app/server more frequently?

Thanks in advance.

@maksym: It's definitely possible to receive more notifications than you have within your rate limit to make. Your app should still make an effort honor the rate limit.

Receiving that many notifications for a single user is unusual, but this can happen, especially if you have multiple resource subscriptions or a person doesn't sync for several days.
