Possible to use HeartRate data in real time?

Hi fitbit knowers,

I would like to make an app that plays music correlating to the users heart rate frequency in REAL TIME. Is it possible to use the fitbit API to get real time data on the users heart rate and push this into my music player or will there be lagg? Or other issues?

Greatful for any insights on this!

Hey there @coconaut, welcome to the Community!

You won't be able to get real time HR data; check out this post from Jeremiah from a similar thread:

All Day Sync means your Fitbit device will sync every 15–20 minutes. The amount of BLE communication should not notably drain your Fitbit device's or phone's battery.

There is no real time transmission (second-by-second updates) of Fitbit data, as we try to minimize the amount of Bluetooth communication to maximize battery life of the Fitbit device. If you need immediate, real time data, we understand that this means a Fitbit device may not be suited for your use case today.
