Production issue: Same subscription notifications being sent over and over

Hello Fitbit Team,

Since the evening March 10th (arround 9PM EST) we noticed that all the notifications we receive from Fitbit on our subscription endpoint contain duplicate collection for multiple dates, some going months back. So basically for each change on member's activity on Fitbit side we'd get notification payloads with the extact same collections. I was able to match one Fitbit user/owner with 150 different notifications about the extact same collection type and date in am hour and half time interval. This extra notifications are mking us reach member's rate quota faster than normal and extra loads.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Thanks for the report. We've started to investigate the issue.

 

@RoxanaF: Were the duplicate / stale notifications across all collection types?

Hi @JeremiahFitbit.

Thank you for getting back. I was able to track mostly activity payloads : "collectionType":"activities".

I didn't see any other colletion types multiplied yet. I can provide you with sample payloads we're getting if you think that'd help you guys.
