Stride Length Updates and Implications for distance and steps

I understand that the Stride Length is by default set automatically as a derivative of one's height and gender. Based on the stride length and the number of steps which a Fitbit device registers, a user's total distance is calculated.

My question is, what happens to distance if in the middle of everything the stride length gets updated either manually by the user or automatically because the user went for a run/walk with GPS on. Is the newly revised stride length retroactively applied to historical steps that the user might have taken and distance than recalibrate? Or does it only apply after the fact for future steps/distances?

Additionally, Is "distance" the only thing that one's stride length variables are used to calculate or is it somehow also used to calibrate for the steps themselves?

@Zharko Stride length only applies to current data, it will not retroactively change historical data. Additionally, stride length only affects distance.
