Subscription Notification intervals just a few seconds apart

Hi API Team,

 

We're noticing for some profiles an uptick in the frequency and quantity of subscriptions.

 

My running hypothesis is these are devices where their mobile devices are set to "All Day Sync". In any hour we might get 40+ of the same notification per user, and in some cases we're seeing as quick as 14-seconds apart (same subscriotionID, same device profile, same collection type).

 

Is this new normal behavior? Is it possible for 2 syncs via the mobile app to happen 14 seconds apart and then trigger a subscription notification? I can send raw logs captures of this example if need be. They have unique update IDs (update1436913676674.xml & update1436913668581.xml)
