I'm using the Subscription Nofitication feature and I'm seeing notifications coming in every 30mins. I'm not syncing my Fitbit Flex with the iPhone app and haven't for a couple days. I was under the impression that notifications are only sent when there's new data and "does not attempt to send a notification more than once".

Your tracker can sync through your phone in the background even when the fitbit application is not running.
You can disable it in applications settings by disabling [all day sync] feature. Also if you log out of the application this will stop syncing your tracker through you phone too.
Also the fact that you block your tracker to sync through your phone doesn't mean it can not sync through your(or your neibhour's) dongle. If tracker finds an usb dongle it will attempt to sync through it.

This sounds to me more like a statement, not a question.
Please rephrase your question if you had any conserns about Fitbi Api Push notifications.

Yes, it's a statement because the system is not working as described. I should not be getting notifications every 30min. if I haven't synced. Why am I getting notifications every 30min. when I haven't synced?
