Subscriptions cancelled

I have integrated with the subscriptions API:https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/web-api/subscriptions/

However, it seems very hit and miss. For some users the push notifications come through and for others Fitbit cancel their subscription without attempting to push the data to us. We always send a 204 response and have a 100% success rate on pushes. It appears for some users, subscriptions may not be supported.

 

I have tried deleting and re-creating subscriptions for the users and I get a success response and can see the subscription is there. However, we do not get pushes for all users and when we check after a short amount of time the subscription has been cancelled by fitbit with no push attempt registered on the fitbit stats

 

Is this a known issue on fitbit subscriptions?

Also note response times are about 300ms on each request

I'd like to investigate why your subscriptions are getting cancelled.  Would you please private message me the following information?

  • client id
  • when are you always sending the 204 response?
  • the Add subscription endpoint your application is executing
  • Are you getting any error message when adding your subscriptions?
  • How long after you create the subscription does it get deleted/cancelled?
  • How do you know the subscription has been cancelled?
