Time for API's to refresh after Synch

Hi,

After I have synch'd my fitbit with the fitbit app, how long does it take for the api's on average to reflect the new data.

I have checked that the refresh has updated with the device API and this is reflected immediately. However, when then calling the profile API, I check my average steps for example and this has not updated, I will keep checking but wondering if there is a "rule".

Thanks!

Quick update, it updated after around 20 mins.

Anyone experience the same and is it the same for all api's or are there other things to consider?

Hi @daiwilliams

For most of the endpoints, it the updated results should be displayed near-immediately.   However, there are times when it may take multiple syncs for the new data to appears.  This can be due to the amount of data being transferred between the device and the mobile application, and the time it takes for the data to run through our algorithms.   Since it took 20 mins for the data to appear, I'm going to assume the first sync didn't capture all of the data off your device and it needed a second sync (automatically occurs every 15 minutes) to capture everything before displaying it in your mobile app or via the Web API.
