Tracking short period of "sleep"

Hey Guys,

New to fitbit, liking so far. I have idea for an app, however I would like to get somekind of feedback from user.

Main question: If user switches into sleep mode, and imidiattely switches back from it will I be able to detect it when I'll sync it back?

Basically, I want to treat entrance an exit into sleeping mode as some sore of trigger for my app (smart, huh? :))

If not, will partner API help me to achive that ?

Thanks!

Andy

@Anant It should be easy enough for you to test, but I think the results will depend on model:

  • One: Should work.
  • Flex: Should work.
  • Charge: An activity has to be a minimum of 5 minutes to sync.
  • Charge HR: An activity has to be a minimum of 5 minutes to sync.
  • Surge: Has no way to manually log a sleep record.
  • Zip: Has no way to log activities/sleep.

Of course the thing to remember is that on the One/Flex/Charge/Charge HR starting/stopping sleep is the same as starting/stopping a workout. (Fitbit uses some automatic logic to determine if they are trying to log a workout or sleep activity and time of day may figure into that.)
