University Group Project Feasibility

Hello,

I am an instructor for a Software Engineering course at the second year level at Western Univeristy in Canada.

I am wondering if it would be feasible for the students to develop a fitness tracking application that uses FitBit's API, as I think it would be a great project for them.

The biggest issue we had in previous years using web APIs is the number and frequency of API requests allowed, because during testing they tended to hammer the sites (no matter how many times we told them to use a mock or stand in).

Also, would it be more appropriate for each group to have a device and account? Or would one be sufficient for everyone?
