Calories Overestimated

Hello! I've had a Fitbit Zip or HR for the last couple of years. I just got a replacement Zip and it's telling me, halfway through the day, that I've burned 5,800+ calories today. It's reading the right time and steps, but this calorie count is way off. I'm normally right about 1000 at this point in the day. I know from having Fitbits in the past that you burn calories just by being alive, but 5,000 calories before lunch is absurd. How can I reset the calorie count? Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by @mjones7! This sounds odd. The calorie burn estimate that Fitbit provides takes into account your BMR, the activity recorded by your tracker, and any activities you log manually.

So, please double check that your persona information is correct (gender, age, height, and weight). Also, take a look if a third party app or any of your manually logged activity has incorrect information.

Keep me posted! 😉
