My zip showed low battery & would not synchronize w/ iphone.  I changed the battery & when I did I lost almost 3,000 steps.  What Happened?  I was close to my goal.....now not even half way there.

@csw527  thanks for stopping by! Smiley Happy It could be that the side spring may be bent as a result of improper battery insertion or pressure being applied to the back housing. Please verify that there is proper contact between the battery and the battery contacts inside your Zip tracker.

You can do this by opening the battery door of your Zip, removing your battery, and ensuring that the silver battery tab located in the lower right half of your tracker is flush with the white box outline in the tracker housing. The process can be followed here.

Also, make sure you are following these steps to replace your battery:

  1. Buy a 3V coin battery, CR2025. It can be found wherever batteries are sold.

  2. Use the battery door tool to open and close the battery door compartment on the back of the your tracker. Zip has a harmless, polysilicone grease on the battery door that lubricates the rubber gasket to ensure a water-tight seal.

  3. Your old battery can be recycled.

Keep in mind that your Zip battery should last up to 6 months before needing a replacement. Frequently tapping your tracker to check your statistics may reduce battery life. Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

It has been counting steps fine since then. Just don't know why it lost part of my steps when I put the new battery in. Strange...

@jamikey thanks for getting back to me! So if I understood correctly, is everything working fine now? Do let me know, I'll be around!

@csw527 it's lovely to hear back from you! Well, that usually happens when the side spring is bent as a result of improper battery insertion or pressure being applied to the back housing of your tracker. Therefore, verifying that there was a proper contact between the battery and the battery contacts inside your Zip tracker was key to get it back on track! Catch you later. Robot wink

Sometimes this happens. That's why I replace the battery when I first wake up.

@GershonSurge nice suggestion! Yeah, changing the battery kind of works like a restart. So any unsynced data will be lost. Sync before removing the battery is a good idea as well!

Catch you later guys. Smiley Happy
